Recycling & Bins

Here in the Algarve, rubbish and recycling are usually taken to the roadside bin areas rather than collected from the house. You’ll see these bin points dotted around the local roads, and they can be used at any time.

Closest bin point

The nearest bin point to Casa da Fonte is at the bottom of the road. Turn left towards Bordeira and you’ll find it about 300 metres along, on the right-hand side.

Alternative bin point

There’s also a handy rubbish & recycling point on the way to Santa Bárbara. It is just before the entrance to the village, on the left-hand side.

Recycling

Most bin areas have separate recycling containers available, so you’re welcome to use them. There is no set collection day or time to worry about, as the bins can be used at any time. 

A quick tip before you head out

A small tip from experience: if you are taking rubbish out with you, you’re welcome to use any of the nearby recycling bin areas. It does not have to be the one closest to the villa.

Lots of guests pop the rubbish in the car before heading out and then forget it is there. Don’t worry, it happens! There are plenty of bin areas around, so you will usually pass another one while you are out and about.
